Around these weeks, the kidneys may have largely completed their development; the liver also begins to take on some of its functions. These organs keep maturing after birth as well.
A note for you
For the mother, as space gets tighter, different kinds of pressure may be felt in her body this week. For the father or partner, setting up a short rest spot in the evenings can be this week's small gesture.
